At Smithson Clinic, we use the word releasing as a synonym for the Sedona Method (see above). In reality, there are many ways we release thoughts and emotions in our daily lives without much effort. Do you treat anxiety or depression?

Yes, but how we treat it is unique to every person. Anxiety and depression are driven by a multitude of factors including family history, learned behaviors, food allergies, brain imbalance, loss and so much for. There are likely physical and emotional components, and possibly spiritual aspects as well. We will design a treatment plan specific for you.

We work with both mental and physical health. Melanie specializes in somatic work integrating spiritual awareness and principles. She works with most emotional issues.
Gail's work employs the body's innate intelligence and ability to heal, and thus, there are very few physical conditions he does not work with. We like to say "if it's not broken, we can fix it". For broken bones, we suggest you seek out conventional treatments.

Yes, Melanie has been treating clients suffering from post-traumatic stress syndrome for 30 years. The modalities of EMDR, DNMS and the Sedona method (combined with body awareness) are extremely effective in working with PTSD. Gail also treats PTSD using an advanced NMT protocol.

Do you work with children?

Yes, children respond very well to NMT. We've had great success with a variety of conditions including allergies, skin conditions, stomach issues and more. For psychological issues, we refer children younger than 13 to repected colleagues.

I am so grateful to have studied with many wise beings who know we are not our thoughts, feelings or sensations. As we learn to break the identification with what we are not, we access freedom. As part of this journey, I believe humor is critically important. Laughter helps us to take ourselves less seriously and makes it easier to let go. What to say of having more fun with the journey!
I am known for my ability to work with spiritual and mystical concepts in a grounded and integrated way. Body awareness continues to be a basic aspect of my work as a critical component of transformational work. I have worked with many clients that have studied new age concepts and are invested in living ‘spiritual lives’ but have become confused by concepts such as positive thinking and manifestation. While potentially useful, without the work of addressing subconscious beliefs and buried emotions, many are just talking a good talk and still suffering internally.

Do you treat arthritis?

Yes, Gail is trained in modalities (NMT and Jaffe-Mellor technique) that are extremely effective in treating both osteoarthritis (OA) and rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Our favorite success story involves Kina, our beloved four-legged who developed OA at the age of 14. She had four more really good years because of Gail's treatments.

What is Body-Mind Psychotherapy?

Also known as somatic psychotherapy, body-mind psychotherapy goes beyond talk therapy and allows you to deepen your awareness of how your thoughts affect your emotions and your body, and how your body stores emotions that have not been given expression. Working with awareness, sensations, breath and movement, we bring to consciousness what is stored in the body. Through non-judgmental awareness, we can study and loosen held beliefs and behaviors that keep us stuck in unsatisfying life situations.  Many who have not benefited from traditional therapy have found relief with body-mind psychotherapy.
